Air amplifiers description
Pressure amplifiers, also known as pressure multipliers, convert compressed air into high pressure (up to 5075 psi or 350 bar). The output pressure, controlled through a regulator, corresponds to the set air pressure multiplied by the multiplication ratio of the pressure intensifier.
They operate on the same principle as gas boosters but with a significant difference. Air amplifiers do not have a distance piece between air motor and high-pressure gas section. Therefore they are not compatible for use with all gases.
Once the pressure multiplier reaches the pre-set pressure it will automatically stall and maintain the pressure.
They are mainly used to increase compressed air pressure and other inert and not dangerous gases. It is essential in use with gases to have adequate ventilation in order not to saturate working environment in case of leak from multiplier due to wear of seals.
Features
- Maximum working pressure: 5075 psi (350 bar)
- Stainless steel high pressure gas section and check valves in contact with gas with exception of some models
- Operate with compressed drive air (gas) from 116 psi (0.8 bar) to 145 psi (10 bar)
- Stall pressure adjustable
- Ideal for START/STOP applications under load
Benefits
- Intrinsically safe no electrical feed required
- Drive air lubrication is not required
- Can replace a dedicated high pressure compressor
- Outlet pressure is maintained without consuming any energy
- Automatic restart in case of pressure drop downstream
- Intrinsic safety. Also suitable for hazardous environments
- Compact, lightweight, robust and weather proof
- Easy to incorporate and use
- Easy to incorporate automatic controls (PLC, proportional regulator)
Alternative to:
- Haskel
- Maximator

What is a pressure multiplier and how to choose it
Identifying the best way to pump, convey and pressurize liquids of various types is an issue plant manufacturers and designers are constantly having to tackle. Pressure multipliers (also known as intensifiers) for liquids, gases and compressed air can come to our aid.
