Description

Elite HPT tubes are made in Europe.

Crafted from high-quality stainless steel, they can be used at pressures of up to 100.000 psi (6.895 bar). They are seamless, cold-drawn, and heat-treated for high strength and corrosion resistance. We custom-make nipples with cone and thread for tubes systems designed for medium and high-pressure applications.

Elite HPT tubes undergo various specific quality checks: dimensional inspections, eddy current tests, metallographic and technological tests, intergranular corrosion tests.

Features

  • Standard material 316L (for tubes up to 60,000 psi / 4,137 bar)
  • Other materials available upon request (such as Hastelloy, Inconel, Duplex, Superduplex, Monel and more)
  • Sizes from 1/4", 3/8", 9/16", 3/4" and 1"
  • Maximum working pressure from 10.000 psi (690 bar) to 100.000 psi (6.895 bar)
  • Rod lengths from 6/7 meters (custom lengths available)

Advantages

  • Made in Europe
  • Seamless
  • Weatherproof
  • Full traceability
  • ISO 9001 : 2015 certified quality system

High pressure tubing and fittings: how the system works

A high pressure system (test benches, waterjet, oil & gas, hydrogen, research) needs tubing, fittings and valves designed as a single system. High pressure rigid tubes are seamless stainless steel, cold drawn and heat treated; the fittings seal metal to metal between the cone of the tube and the seat of the fitting, without O-rings, and can be assembled and disassembled an unlimited number of times.

The coned and threaded connection

The end of the tube is coned and threaded; a collar is screwed onto the thread and the gland pushes the tube cone against the fitting seat. MP and HP fittings have a weep hole that shows any leak immediately. Lines subject to vibration use anti-vibration assemblies. We make custom coned and threaded nipples for medium and high pressure systems.

Pressure classes and connections

ConnectionMaximum working pressureTypical uses
NPT15,000 psi (1,034 bar)Instrumentation, medium pressure circuits, connection to standard components
MP (medium pressure)20,000 psi (1,380 bar)Hydrostatic testing, technical gases, hydrogen
HP (high pressure)100,000 psi (6,900 bar)Waterjet, burst test benches, research, ultra high pressure

Fittings and adapters are available from 1/8" to 1", entirely in AISI 316 (other materials on request) and compatible with all liquids and gases.

Dedicated tubing is available for hydrogen: see the hydrogen tubing catalogue in the download section of this page.

Applications

  • High pressure hydrostatic testing of pipelines, conduits, valves, cylinders and tanks
  • Leak testing, burst test benches, instrument calibration
  • Technical gases and hydrogen, accumulator charging
  • Waterjet and high pressure flushing units
  • Wellhead control panels, valve actuators, tensioners and torque wrenches

How to choose high pressure tubing and fittings

  • Maximum pressure of the system, with the required safety margin: it defines the NPT, MP or HP class.
  • Fluid: water, oil, technical gases or hydrogen, which may require dedicated tubes and materials.
  • Flow: it determines the inside diameter of the tube.
  • Environment: corrosive fluids or offshore use require special materials such as Duplex, Superduplex or Inconel.
  • Vibration: use anti-vibration assemblies.

Our fittings and adapters are an alternative to Haskel, Maximator, BuTech and Autoclave. Complete the system with high pressure valves and fittings and adapters.

High pressure tubing and fittings FAQ

What pressure can high pressure tubing withstand?

Elite HPT tubes work from 10,000 psi (690 bar) up to 100,000 psi (6,895 bar), depending on diameter and wall thickness.

What is the difference between MP and HP connections?

MP (medium pressure) connections reach 20,000 psi (1,380 bar), HP (high pressure) up to 100,000 psi (6,900 bar); both use the coned and threaded metal-to-metal seal.

Do high pressure fittings need seals?

No: the seal is metal to metal between the tube cone and the fitting seat, without O-rings, and fittings can be disassembled and reassembled several times.

Is there an alternative to Autoclave and Maximator fittings?

Yes: the fittings and adapters we supply are an alternative to Haskel, Maximator, BuTech and Autoclave.
