The rental service
Interfluid rents out a coning and threading machine for high pressure tubing: it prepares the ends of stainless steel tubing for the cone & thread connections used in medium, high and very high pressure circuits. It is intended for contractors and plant engineers who have to lay high pressure lines for a site, a project or a plant shutdown and need the machine only for the length of the job. The tube is clamped only once and is not removed until the end.

The machine must be used with the tooling provided for each tube size (coning blades, threading combs, clamp), supplied by Interfluid with the rental. The model is chosen by Interfluid at the time of the order, according to the application and availability; it is delivered with the manufacturer's manual and documentation.

How the rental works
- Request: you tell us tube sizes and pressures, the approximate number of ends to machine, period and place of use.
- Offer: we confirm availability, the tool set needed, duration and conditions.
- Delivery: the machine arrives configured, with tools for the sizes requested, cutting oil and the manual in Italian.
- Start-up: one of our technicians trains you on use and commissioning, at our premises or on site (feasibility to be defined).
- Use: telephone technical support throughout the rental; spare tools available from stock.
- End of rental: the rental ends when Interfluid receives the machine back and checks it. Return transport is at the customer's expense.

Do you also need to test the lines?
For the same job you can also have the rental of pressure testing units, with liquids up to 5,000 bar or with gas up to 2,069 bar.
Coning and threading machine rental FAQ
Which tubing can be machined?
Austenitic work-hardened stainless steel tubing from 1/4" to 1" outside diameter, for rated tubing pressures up to 10,500 bar. The sizes for which tooling is available are listed in the table.
How long does it take to prepare one end?
About 1 minute to clamp the tube, from 1 minute (1/4") to 4-5 minutes (1") for coning, a few seconds for threading and a few seconds to remove the tube and deburr the bore.
What thread does the machine cut?
Left-hand thread, with automatic feed. Thread length is preset and selected with the thread selection knob.
Do I need specialised staff to operate it?
The machine is intended for technicians experienced in pressure piping. We supply start-up instructions on delivery and, on request, and subject to feasibility, one of our technicians can assist you on site.
What power supply does it need?
230 V a.c., 50 Hz, single-phase. The motor is 1 HP with inverter; the machine is mounted on a trolley with lockable wheels and the cutting oil system is included.
Are the coning tools included?
Yes, the machine is delivered with the tool set for the agreed tube sizes (coning blades, threading combs and clamp) and with cutting oil. Blades and combs wear with use: consumption is defined in the offer.
What is the minimum rental and who pays for transport?
The minimum rental is one week, with weekly and monthly rates. Delivery in Italy has transport quoted in the offer, or you can collect the machine from our premises in Gallarate (VA); return transport is at the customer's expense.
Do you also supply the tubing and fittings?
Yes: Interfluid supplies high pressure tubing, fittings and valves and can help you choose, together with training on making sealing cones and threads.
