The PIISMA variable speed drive system is a highly technological solution characterized by its operational benefits and energy savings that it can provide to the plant on which it is installed, without altering its performance.
It consists of a variable-speed servo motor, controlled through an inverter and coupled with an internal gear pump, whose power can be constantly adapted to the actual requirements, effectively eliminating almost all losses when the machine is inactive. In fact, unlike traditional hydraulic presses, when the machine is not in motion, both the pump motor and hydraulic oil circulation come to a stop.
Through the adjustment of the speed and pressure, it is possible to have different pressure and flow ranges based on the needs of the production cycle.
The flow of the hydraulic pump is proportional to the speed of the electric motor. Energy consumption of injection presses with the PIISMA system is, therefore, more than halved, resulting in a consequent increase in production efficiency.
In the case of revision and modernization of existing presses (retrofitting), the use of the PIISMA system can significantly improve the utilization of the plant and simultaneously reduce energy costs and noise levels.
This modular system can be installed on any existing press, whether small or large tonnage, and whether equipped with a traditional pump circuit or an oil-pneumatic accumulator circuit.
At the time of installation, it is appropriately calibrated and fine-tuned by our specialized technicians without altering the machine's operation, thus keeping the functional performance unchanged in terms of speed and/or design pressures.
