Herion XSZ safety valves double valves for presses, PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1

Herion XSZ safety valves (now IMI Herion) are double valves designed to safely control mechanical presses with pneumatic clutch/brake systems and other 3-way safety functions. Two valves work in parallel and monitor each other: if one of the two bodies fails to switch correctly, the air is exhausted and the machine goes to a safe state, with no residual pressure.

With the appropriate application, the solenoid version achieves performance level PL e (category 4) according to EN ISO 13849-1 for the function "pressure building up from 1 to 2 and pressure dropping from 2 to 3". The pneumatically actuated versions integrate into two-hand control systems according to EN 574.

The range includes 3/2 and 5/2-way valves, pneumatically or solenoid actuated, with ports from G1/4 to G2 (NPT versions also available). Self-monitoring is dynamic and needs no additional electrical signals, and the overlap on mechanical presses is easy to adjust.
