Description
Marzocchi external gear pumps consist of a pair of gear, supported by two aluminum bushings, a securing flange, a body, and a cover.
They can be supplied in both single rotation and bidirectional configurations.
All pumps are available in different displacements thanks to the variation of the toothed band thickness of the gear.
During operation, low levels of pulsation and noise of the pump are ensured by the particular design of the tooth profile and the geometric proportions.
Marzocchi hydraulic pump range includes the new products ALP1, ALP2, ALP3, and ALP4, suitable for applications in both the mobile and industrial fields.
They are also available in a reversible version or with a pressure limiting valve.
Marzocchi external gear pumps GHP series are also suitable for both mobile and industrial applications. It is possible to choose the shaft, flange and the inlet and pressure port.. The GHP range includes pumps with independent driving systems and reversible pumps.
The external gear micropumps of the 0.25 and 0.5 series can also be used at high pressure applications. The range includes multiple micropumps, bi-rotational micropumps or micropumps with check valves.
Available in a reversible, double, and with pressure relief valve version. With the 1P range, you can choose the outlet, suction ports, shafts, and various flange options.
They are obtained through the combination of ALP and GHP pumps.
Technical data by series
Summary values per group, from the official Marzocchi Pompe catalogue tables. Pressures and speeds vary with displacement: for each individual model, the catalogue tables prevail.
| Group | Displacement (cm³/rev) | Continuous pressure P1 (bar) | Peak pressure P3 (bar) | Max speed (rpm) | Construction |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ALP1 | 1.4 – 13.8 | 150 – 250 | 180 – 290 | 1800 – 6000 | Aluminium |
| ALP2 | 4.5 – 35.2 | 140 – 250 | 170 – 290 | 1800 – 4000 | Aluminium |
| ALP3 | 20 – 87 | 140 – 230 | 170 – 270 | 2000 – 3500 | Aluminium |
| ALP4 | 87 – 200 | 130 – 240 | 150 – 280 | 2000 – 2800 | Aluminium |
| GHP1 | 1.4 – 13.8 | 150 – 270 | 180 – 310 | 1800 – 6000 | Aluminium body, ductile iron flange and cover |
| GHP2 | 4.5 – 35.2 | 160 – 280 | 190 – 310 | 1800 – 4000 | Aluminium body, ductile iron flange and cover |
| GHP3 | 20 – 87 | 160 – 280 | 190 – 310 | 2000 – 3500 | Aluminium body, ductile iron flange and cover |
| 1P | 0.8 – 8.0 | 120 – 230 | 160 – 270 | 1200 – 6000 | Aluminium |
| 0.25 | 0.19 – 0.64 | 150 – 230 | 190 – 270 | 5000 – 7000 | Aluminium (micropump) |
| 0.5 | 0.50 – 1.50 | 150 – 230 | 190 – 270 | 3000 – 7000 | Aluminium (micropump) |
ALP or GHP? For the same group the displacements are the same; the GHP, with ductile iron flange and cover, works at higher pressures and is the choice for heavy-duty use.
Options and special versions
- Flanges and shafts in European, SAE (J744) and German (BK) standards
- Reversible "R" version with internal or external drain (for the GHP, pressures are reduced by about 15%)
- Integrated pressure relief valve (VM) on ALP2 and 1P
- V: fluid up to +120 °C · VV: up to +150 °C at max 20 bar
- ST: from −40 to +120 °C · H: from −40 to +80 °C
- TR: inlet pressure up to 6 bar absolute
Double and multiple pumps
ALP and GHP elements are modular and can be combined into two, three or more stage pumps, also with micropumps. The first element must be of the same or larger group and displacement than the following ones; the maximum speed is that of the slowest element.
Fluid and filtration
- Mineral oil DIN 51525 / VDMA 24317
- Recommended viscosity 10 – 100 cSt (permitted 6 – 500 cSt, at start-up below 2000 cSt)
- Standard temperature from −10 to +80 °C (from −15 °C for 1P and micropumps)
- Inlet pressure 0.7 – 3 bar absolute
| Working pressure | ISO 4406 | Filter (βx = 75) |
|---|---|---|
| < 140 bar | 19/16 | 25 – 40 µm |
| 140 – 210 bar | 18/15 | 12 – 15 µm |
| > 210 bar | 17/14 | 6 – 12 µm |
Features
- Continuous pressure: from 190 bar to 270 bar (depending on the series)
- Peak pressure: from 230 to 310 bar (depending on the series)
- Maximum speed: 6000 rpm (7000 rpm for the 0.25-0.5 series)
- Available helical gear version (ELIKA)
Advantages
- Low pressure pulsation levels
- Wide range of displacements
- High performance and reliability

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Marzocchi ALP and GHP pumps?
For the same group they have the same displacements. The ALP is entirely aluminium; the GHP has an aluminium body with ductile iron flange and cover and withstands higher pressures: up to 280 bar continuous and 310 bar peak, against 250 and 290 bar for the ALP.
Do Marzocchi pumps replace Casappa pumps?
Yes: the ALP series corresponds to the Casappa PLP, the GHP to the Casappa PHP and HD. Send us the code of the pump to replace and our technicians will confirm the Marzocchi equivalent.
Can double or multiple pumps be made?
Yes. ALP and GHP elements are modular and can be combined into two, three or more stage pumps, also with the 0.25 and 0.5 micropumps. We assemble them quickly based on your configuration.
What filtration does a Marzocchi gear pump need?
It depends on the working pressure: ISO 4406 class 19/16 below 140 bar, 18/15 between 140 and 210 bar, 17/14 above 210 bar. The catalogue indicates 18/15 as the generally recommended level.
How soon will I receive price and availability?
